this poem is my fancier version of that old adage 'Youth is only wasted on the young'...................

I agree this is a fancier

I agree this is a fancier version.

While I was 19, I  was so self-conscious I was turning 20 and felt I don't belong to what they call " youth " anymore. So you can I imagine how I lost sleep when I was hitting 30's!  ( LOL)!!! Then I stopped caring after that. Maturity comes with the mind. I have wasted so much time in my youth shying away from deep feelings for personal reasons. Then I woke one day that I have wasted so much time over the hurt I turned to myself. Melissa dear, thank you for wonderful this poem! And cheers to our unfolding middle age!

Shye! Do me a favor!

Give this poem of mine another read. My editor Amy worked on this with me and we changed a few minor things around and I think it now reads as much more crisp and clear. Let me know if you see much of a change since you read the first unedited version. Thank so much, Sincerely, your friend Melissa

With pleasure!

I could see that a few minor details and line rearrangements were done making the impact of its message more felt. If I thought the unedited version was wonderful, why, __ this was simply perfect!
Thank you dearest Melissa for sharing this lovely tribute for our lost youth gone unwasted...
