something to believe in

is something we all need

to keep oursleves occupied

to have reasons to live

but i believe in leaving

what hurt me the most

behind me and beneath me

intoxicate my misery

and drown it out with some new melodies



you know i'm on your side

but i have my disagreements

with your politics

so don't take offense when i attack

the depths of my own interests



i'm aware i probably lack the luster

that you lust for in your humdrum teenage life

there's no use in harboring a grudge

so ill cast myself to the sea and disappear

too quickly for you to notice

that i was even here



i hope you got you what want

as for me i'll get what comes

and what comes easily isn't worth

all the misery that it comes with

but soon my head will buzz

with the vibration of a new song

and until then ill hum because

i dont know the words just yet
