Who gives us a hard time
Who causes us pain
Who is a perfectionist
Are we a happy family?
A mother who works so hard
And gets no respect
Who gets no attention by her man
Who is not married
Are we a happy family?
A little brother who is the only one
Holding the family together
Who is too young to understand
What is going on
Are we a happy family?
A son who is constantly depressed
Who is crying a lot
Who wants to run away
Who wants to commit suicide
Are we a happy family?
We may look happy from the outside,
But you only see the walls of the house
And not the furniture.
So don’t be jealous of us,
We’re not that happy.
Are we a happy family?

Hey how's things? Thanks for the comments on my poem, and I can totally relate to this myself. It actually caused me to get depressed, and do a huge number on my emotions. It's a looong story but let me just say my dad has put a lot of emotional stress on the family and it was hard. When we would tell people of what actually happened in the home, they were all in shock and could not believe what they were hearing cuz like you said happy home right? WRONG!! It was just a cover up, and when people left everything went downhill again. Anyways I got some more stuff on family and home at my site if you ever wish to check it out! Take care.

my sister is young, yet she knows in part thatsomething is wrong, and especially with me..
and it seems like in the only one bringing pain into this family..and the only reasonteyll be happy is with me gone
i had a draft for a poem..a bit similar to this...and i seem to have lost it..im so mad now..but well..at least i have what i want to say..maybe htis time ill write t even better.
