I know what it is like to hold an angel,

God blessed me with that.

But I only got to hold you for a moment,

Before I had to give you back.

I got to hold you in my arms,

Look at your tiny hands and feet.

I got to smile on a face that is so sweet.

My little angel had to fly away,

This world was too hateful for someone like you,

Too full of love to stay.

We never got to say hello or goodbye,

You were gone before we knew it and all we can do now is cry.

Now my little angel is in heaven, so please do take care,

and when the time is right I will meet you there.
