Who was it that you thought you saw
Hiding behind the pain?
Who was it you thought you heard
Laughing in the rain?
Who was it you slept next to
After the lust was upon you
Was it who you wanted to console you
When you were feeling blue?
You wanted the mask to hide behind
You thought you’d never want to see
Now that mask has been torn away
And the face behind it wasn’t me.
I think in all my living and loving the emotions you described here are the loneliest of all. Been there and done that. No thank you, sir. I don't understand how some people can hurt and hurt and never give a thought to how it makes others feel.
