Negligence

Out of compulsion single mother work twelve hours

Ambition, promotion good life for self and children.

Her nine and two year old babies

Both sickle anaemia patients

Expensive baby sitter vanish for days;

Dilemma situation. Alternate option none.

Children forced at home without anyone.

In between work routine, mom stay in connection

over telephone.

Acting fast, criminals set house on fire

Helpless woman, pathetic state dire.

Lose both children, her life’s motivation

Lost forever her only precious possessions.

Unsympathetic State justice promptly, swing into action.

Law overlook crime, actual culprit, dynamic society direction;

Mother guilty of negligence, court wrangle

Inconsiderate handcuff heart broken mom, the criminal.

Offenders walk free in land. Single mother’s agony, no concern;

Her distress and misfortune no one understands.

Wow! You are starting to sound like me. Very hard questions posed. If the place she worked had provided child care, the problem would have been solved. The mother knew leaving children that age alone was negligence according to the laws of the land, now she will be punished twice...once by imprisonment, second by the knowledge the her two children suffered that terrible fate. Sometimes as parents, we make bad decisions because we want more for our children, but on some level, you have to wonder if maybe she wanted more for herself? where was the father in all this? If he wasn't dead, does he not bear some of the responsibility? Lot of tough questions. May take Solomon to find an answer.

Hugs and Peace
