IRAQ War II

I see the abuses

And my rage comes forth

To destroy my enemies

Just for sport.

Taking their atrocities

Turning them back

To sever their heads

In a vicious attack.

Then calm returns

And reason sets in,

I ask for forgiveness,

For thinking of this sin.

I pray that others

Will take this deep breath,

To put a stop to

The carnage and death.

I pray the people

Will take an active part

To rid their country

Of those tearing out its heart.

The people and liberators

Only want security and peace,

To rebuild the country

So the people can be free.

But the cycle will continue

Cause none wants to make waves,

Until they are on CNN

Holding a loved one that has been filleted.

It takes a combined effort,

People and liberator’s too

To restore the country

For all and not just the few.

Freedom’s price is very high,

Bought with the blood of patriots

that had to die.

It is a living thing, this ideal to be free,

And resides in you and me.

It must be nurtured

That it might grow,

Change with the times

As fluid flows.

It must be tolerant

And forgiving also,

For its seeds to spread,

To flourish and grow.

Our respective Gods,

Would all agree,

It takes loving one another,

Before all can be free.

Author's Notes/Comments:

The news today had the piece on the American hostage that was beheaded in Iraq for the abuses in the Abu Grabur prison. My first thought was "we should go in and wipe them all from the face of the earth," then after I had calmed down and they interviewed some Iraqi's and how horrified they were, I felt remorse for it is only a few there that are perpetrating this evil (on both sides), but yet the innocent suffer.  At some point though, the innocent must rise up and say enough and they must root out the cancer that is causing all the grief.

I am sure you will now appreciate my stubborn support for nothing but peace. Peace brings freedom and not violence. I have taken ill with this bloodshed and disaster. All around I get the smell of blood.. and I wail like a helpless child at this stage of my half a century here on earth. I am unable to enjoy music, movie, eurovision, nothing -- but weap alone at our misery on this beautiful earth.

Huck,
I strongly agree with you and how you feel about it all... something has to bring it all to a halt soon... before God steps in and then no one will have to worry about it...
Very good write...
Thanks for sharing this with me..
Peace and Love..
Judy
