God led Jesus into the wilderness
Forty days and nights to pray,
Satan tempted him with riches,
Too switch to his team to play.
He resisted as must we,
The many temptations we face,
To remain good and free
In our God given place.
If Satan makes the offer that tempts
To rid the world of disease
For the life of one innocent,
Tell him, “no thank you please.”
“What of the greater good?” He will say,
Just tell him, “no and please go away.”
“One innocent, no one will miss.
Can’t you see the greater good in this?”
Giving that one innocent will breed hate
That will fester and grow at an enormous rate,
By the family of the one that is taken,
Their vendetta passed generation to generation
Will not be forsaken.
Out of them will come a great nation
And their hatred will spill over to their neighbor,
With all of this vexation,
There is no alternative but war.
All of this because of a sacrifice
Of innocent blood for Satan’s lust
He will have snared us in his vice
For this one act that was unjust.
Spread the word about peace and love,
Then, working together with direction from above,
All the infirmities that plague man
Will be overcome. By faith, we can.
Let our motto’s be,
“Love is Spoken Here”
Let it be raised for all the world to see.
Our Faith and love will set us free.
Your insight, wit, creativity, spiritually leak from this poem. It's amazing knowing you and reading your splendid work. Thanks for much for sharing it with me.
Hi Huck,
It was really nice. Your interest. Without too many words perhaps I can explain the meaning of "Islam," means "Peace." Hope you aren't surprised! Though I am a born Hindu I have always felt secured in an Islamic Environment. Not saying I have been in the middle east but.. Honestly mid-east situation is actually far from Islamic, peaceful. It is torn with anxiety, doubt, fear, loss, depression, deprivation in spite_'The manifestation of richness: Culture, heritage and resources."
Know, you'll be able to move hearts with your beautiful lines.
Huck I enjoyed your poem very much and it kind of came to my house at the right time. I was raised to love and respect all people from all different walks of life. I am myself part Cherokee Indian, was raised with African Americans and would never think of treating anyone badly because of where they come from or the color of their skin. A few months ago my daughter started dating a Mexican man[ very cute, very polite and very, very respectable toward her and my grandsons] but where he works, some of the people there treat him badly because he is Mexican. He came to me today and asked why people were that way here in America. It is hard to explain that to someone who don't understand about the hate some folks have for other nationalities. But I tried. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful poem.
Love Shirley
Huck,
So true, This beautiful poem you have written makes so much sense.. But will people ever learn... I too would love to see nothing but love and peace between all the nations...
There is so much happening right now that was fortold in the bible... Nations will rise against Nations and Brothers against Brothers... It goes on and on...
So who's to say where it will start or begin...
You did a very wonderful piece here...
Thanks for sharing this with me..
Peace and Love
Judy
