Porcelain

I chase dreams from my throne.

This is a place where men think deeply about the cosmic wonders of how blueberries came to be.

Just how odd are blueberries?

My Grandma used to say “Even savages love blueberries”.

We are a people of sacred things and sacred places.

This is no doubt a sacred place.

 A place to meditate,

a place to cry,

a place to laugh,

a place to think about the simple things,

a place to make elaborate plans,

a sacred place no doubt.

From this seat I travel.

I travel beyond this town,

this country,

 this atmosphere.

I travel to places where humanity exists.

Often the seat awakens me

with a reminder that life can be just as harsh.

I should really consider buying one of those electric seat warmers.

After all, sacred places are never cold

 or shocking.

My thoughts often swirl into the unknown and become forgotten.

And sometimes,

if I’m lucky,

I get them back the next day,

around the same time,

 just like clock-work.

Often, I wonder,

how much this sacred place has added to the progress of man.

My guess is that most progress has been flushed away

Forgotten forever.

I continue to chase dreams from my throne,

But I refuse to flush.
