Once when snowflakes fell from the sky,
I was with this wonderful guy,
He was kind & caring & fun to be around,
The greatest treasure I ever found.
He showed me his so called "normal town",
My feet were totally off the ground.
I saw squirrels running here and there,
I even saw fish swimming at a hatchery there.
We took a walk by a beautiful spring,
I saw so many wonderful things.
There were swans cruising in a gravel pit,
I saw a basement and about had a fit.
Living in the desert not much beauty found,
I was amazed by this beautiful town.
I was so shocked and surpised to see,
How big and pretty the icey Mississippi could be.
I saw farms and cows and pigs it was a treat,
I even pet a horse that lives down the street.
Went window shopping and held his hand,
He is such a wonderful friend.
Bridges and cliffs tall and so bold,
I felt a stream and my hand was cold.
He laughed and said that's what you get,
But it was ok it's something I won't forget.
The time I spent there went to fast,
But I'll have memories that will last and last.
A time I could've enjoyed more of,
A time spent with you and your "normal town" of Decorah.
