A LONGING

Under a shady tree

Without a care

Fear or worry

I want nothing more

But a lost soulmate

Who would know

How to respond to my love

For her

And how to give me

Total peace of mind

Heart's quietude

And soul's solace

And who would also know

How to share

Sorrows and joys

Without a question

Without a frown

And who would not hesitate

To join me

Wholeheartedly

In traversing this life's boundary

And who, with all her gentleness

Her sweet understanding fondness

Her modest gaze

Her soft footsteps

Her hushed voice,

And blissful embrace

Usher me

Into the tranquil lap

Of eternity.

and so sir
shall I sit awhile
and long with you
sighs!
indeed I shall
it is part of your
timeless male beauty
to stream such enchantment
and thought
into one glorious gorgeous
collage of words
you captivate this reader
as you hold your hand out
to the world
smitten are these eyes
to truly know the man
behind such verse................
signed
a misty eyed poetess
muahhhhhhhhhh!
