I love to hear the thunder clap,
Clap in full fury,
I love to see the lightning flash,
In eye-blinding glory.
I love to see the rain drops dance,
And glide on wings of air,
I love to see Nature enhance,
The song the rainbow sings.
I love to feel the cool, moist air,
Fanning me all through,
Gliding and combing my hair,
In a way I wish I knew.
All these sights, medley of sounds,
Mean to me all the more,
When I see you, standing there,
Smiling, at the door.
The charm you lend to everything,
With that welcoming lovely smile,
Makes everything look like paradise,
For now, for all the while.
Be still my beating woman's heart! That was beyond romantic and lovely that was absolutely breath stealing. Could almost imagine the lilting voice and that soft, tender, male gaze upon my visage as those words were spoken aloud. Elisabeth Barrett Browning (were she alive today) would be seething in envious woman's rage and asking why couldn't Robert have written this for me? Hemingway used it as a title but the words fit you in these moods my dear man you are indeed 'A Movable Feast' for the eyes to read.........again you know who....... so why type it!
What a beautiful poem you have written scattering smiles upon my lips! Thanks for sharing this poem.
