A Long Kiss

A long kiss on the lips with love all around you,

like gentle touching blossoms soft and wet,

is filled with a nectar to drug and blind you,

bringing glowing hypnotic waves from the chest.

A long kiss savoured is insanity flavoured;

a craving for dreamers to taste the prize

for yeilding hearts that send all human reason

adrift in circles of love in the mind.

A long kiss speaks, but not words you can conquer.

A long kiss sings, but not songs you can sing.

A long kiss sails on the windsongs of matter

caught up in the flight of an alien on wing.

A long kiss can torch your heart to continue

burning with fire long after it's over

a flame left roaring deep within you

a molten addiction invading the sober.

A long kiss can heal diminished duende

a soothing connection for those with a gift.

And words can't flatter those few precious moments

when there's visions of true love from within.

What an accurate account of that feeling summed up in this poem.

I love this piece throughout and this conclusion is all that it has to say:

"when there's visions of true love from within."

Kudos.

I'm in love with this poem. I think the earth has lost count of the myriad dreamers who have attempted to define and convey love and all its subcategories. And yet, here I am pleasantly surprised to find a piece that truly resounds with authenticity on the matter. It's exquisite, this one.

This is a great piece that I really enjoyed from the first kiss to the last one. Thanks for sharing,

This is beautiful and inspired me to write this haiku: poetic waves flow in unconquerable words a kiss waits to speak
