I was once in heaven one silent cool winter day
and I saw you there waiting on my best,
in a soft shield of tenderness.
We were wrapped in satin sheets
and could hear our heartbeats talk
and I reached for you and smiled.
Then I imagined we were in a timeless stream
and that we were an endangered king and queen
this filled the image with fear.
That fact that we were superior and noble but so afraid.
Did we have servants of the kind and loyal type
and if so, where were they?
Suddenly! I was taken with shock as
the worst of the servants, an evil bard,
was quoting the first bard's black MacBeth
while holding a sword over your neck.
I reached for you across the bloody bed
and screamed at the world....!
I woke up!
beside my favourite girl.
You gave me smiling looks and reached to stroke my face,
long strokes, long and smooth, full of lazy love.
For all our years you'd proved yourself a lady.
You whispered in my ear, familiar love,
you said, "come to me, I'm going crazy!"
I pulled you to my chest and kissed your words,
now I'm going crazy!
or is this still a dream?
now here, I manage to know I'm raising up to roam the meadow,
so this can't be a dream,
and as I pressed hard I heard you say,
"come to me, I'm going crazy."
I could feel the flames of passion devouring my thighs
as your velvet skin lay exposed before me
the fire within blazing hot!
A droopy eyed smile filled your face.
Suddenly you're in my arms,
your wine flavoured tongue probing mine....
and then I hear you loud and clear,
"The kids are late for school!"
and I wake up to see my favourite girl...
"The kids are late for school!" she says,
half smiling as if she knew where we'd just been.
I once read somewhere.. early morning dreams are always the clearest and wierdest...cos it is just lying above the brim of conscience and going to fade off into nothingness.. guess this poem is kinda like that huh?~ Smilesz...but i marvel at how well u can remember it. :) Do read my To Catch A Forgotten Dream. Smilesz..thanxs. it's pretty similar to this one.
a very sweet poem :)
Eric: This is my favorite work of yours so far. The images are crisp, alive, and colorful, and the characters are actually moving in my mind. You shift between dream and reality with fluid grace, and link the mundane with the epic spirit world in a fluid and seamless stroke. Well done! Nanook
very pretty! I liked the ending ;-)
