You've given me courage to hope,

When all hope was lost,

Taught me to stand up for myself,

No matter the cost,

You've taught me to dream,

And use my imagination,

Taught me how to succeed,

And vent my frustration,

You told me to give,

So I would recieve,

Taught me to laugh,

And in God to believe,

You've taken me places,

That I've never been,

With all the little things you say,

I just can't help but grin,

You've taught me to trust,

In my fellow peers,

To share all my feelings,

My troubles and tears,

You taught me to love,

In order to learn,

Told me to let the fires,

Of my heart burn,

Taught me to learn from the wise,

And ignore the fools,

To hold onto friends,

For they're life's jewels,

You've taught me that life,

Is precious indeed,

You've given me advice,

When I was in need,

You've told me to find joy,

In all the little things,

Taught me to hold fast to dreams,

For the promises they bring,

You taught me to always,

Believe in myself,

Told me that life,

Is my true wealth,

Taught me to lean on my friends,

When there's nothing else I can do,

Taught me that the real treasures in life,

Are friends like you.
