While You Were Sleeping

While you were sleeping,

I whispered in your ear,

Love songs and sweet nothings,

All the while, holding you near.

While you were sleeping,

We somehow drifted apart,

Those words you whispered in your dreams,

Tore at my fragile heart.

So while i lay there trying to sleep,

I heard a rustle in the night,

You turned away from me,

And I let you without a fight.

Then while I was sleeping,

You slipped out the door,

I awoke to find you missing,

I just wish I could sleep forever more.

I really like the first stanza.

While you were sleeping,
I whispered in your ear,
Love songs and sweet nothings,
All the while, holding you near.

Truly describes the feeling of being in love. Grab it every chance you get. Don't worry if it doesn't last forever. We're lucky to feel it at all.

Keep writing what's in your heart and you can't go wrong.
