Journey to the Other Side

Folder:
My Works

I want to fly

I want to break these chains

The ground holds me back

But I'm still here

As I catch myself falling

From deep secret skies

I can feel the freedom

In my eyes

Why can't they understand?

The trees reach for the sky

They know the pain

of seeing what they cannot grasp

I see the dreams among the stars

And wonder how I'll ever get that far

To reach beyond the limits

And fly through the endless void

To touch the stars of heaven

My heart beats faster with shaky anticipation

My body feels frustrated with its own location

it yearns to be free

to break all bonds

and travel the very air we breathe

I look above and look below

Willing myself to leave it all behind

to let go and fly free

I catch the ground as it floats above my head

My feet go running kicking at the Earth

As I gain height I free fall

Towards the heavens

The clouds swirl around my body

wrapping me in a vortex

The way is open

And I plunge into the dimension

where reality battles fantasy

I scream as the barrier breaks

but no sound is produced

my eyes open the light

my soul echoes the cry

my heart beats the drum

and my mouth speaks the why

I'm falling up

and climbing down

it seems that time is no where to be found

My body falls away

as my soul catches fire

I fall through the veil

as my body becomes rewired

My physical form comes back into view

As my feet touch the ground

and my eyes open anew.

aim for the stars

at least that way you have a better chance of clearing the tree tops

Like in sleep. No one knows

Like in sleep. No one knows where we go when we sleep.... we have only to surmise and ..."dream".. get wrapped in the delusions we create. Loved this read.

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "
