Peaceful Journey My Dear Friend Inge

You are to me, everthing frienship holds dear. Ours, is a friendship that could have so easily not have been, but yet  was meant to be.  We are of a different era, a different herritage, and yet, our friendship has remained to be one of the most precious of gifts I will ever be granted.

I do not know how to say good-bye to you.  You have always been there...to hear my laughter, dry my tears, and encourage my dreams.  To think of you brings a smile.  To think of you no longer here, brings a tear.

I wish for you the most beautiful of angels to carry you to the arms of the Father. You are the victor of your battle.  Your prize will soon be realized. The heavens will regain its wondering angel from this earth.

As for me my friend, the beauty of a true friendship will remain forever in my heart.  Your presence will always be as near as the sight of a flower that you so dearly loved, or the song I will sing in your memory.  As I sit before a blank page, I will remember all the words that have passed between us in written form.  The sharing of my words, a gift to you.  The appreciation and encouragement given from you in return, will always lead me to another word upon an unfinished page.

You are admired for your courage, respected for your determination, and loved by many hearts!  You will forever be a part of me.

So, my dear friend, from me, there can be no real words of good-bye.  Only the words of a friend, wishing you a peaceful journey!

Author's Notes/Comments:

I was loosing my best friend to Cancer.  The call of preperation had come, the battle all but lost, and I was faced with the reality that soon she would be gone.

This really was not meant to be seen.  As I sat waiting for the call to come, I wrote this to try to ease the pain. I decided to post it here as a tribute to her. She was my colleague, my friend and my mentor.  "Inge, this is posted for you my friend.  You always told me I would be read one day."
As I told her....
"She was admired for her courage, respected for her determination, and loved by many hearts!"

My heart will forever be greatful for the priviledge of knowing her. Lesa

Lesa,

I'm so very sorry to hear about the loss of one as sweet and loving as your friend Inge. Your tribute was truly from the heart and I wouldn't be surprised if she were looking over your shoulder as you wrote it. She is finally at peace with her Heavenly father and is celebrating this Easter with the Truly Risen God Himself.

I love the way you wtire from the heart. Your words are so soft, caring and loving. I'm glad that His Spirit created the circumstances that led to our paths crossing one another. I don't believe there are any mistakes in the universe. As the good book says '...there is a season for every purpose under heaven...'

Happy Easter my new friend

This is such a beautiful tribute; I can only imagine how difficult it was to prepare for the loss of such a wonderful person. I know that these times are ahead of me; I have lost some friends to accidents and other awful incidents but none of my closest friends have passed away as yet.
