.
He dismissed his children
with a gentle caress of one fang.
Appeared, silent as his long ago tomb,
to shock and stiffle her scream
with his eyes emitting charm
signaling calm to her horror
stunned carotid.
She did not believe he was human,
did not understand the sip at her throat
painless, like no man she ever dreamed
or desired.
.
Cat noiseless, he came quietly
waiting when her apartment key
turned at midnight. His cloak
long and wind captured
as he moved like a black drape
flowing from an open window's
storm sent breath.
.
Everything about him
was red. Ravenous as a veined
needle craving packed cells,
he came, kin to the moonlight,
synonym for night. He was
the perfect blend of lust
and shade.
.
His magnetism pulled her
to silken sheets. Unable to resist,
the keys fell from her fingers
while blood tinged ivories
unsheathed like a hunter's blade
as she whispered
"yes".
