In the island nation of Maldivies, a decade back, more than twenty people lost their lives while returning back to their island after watching a zonal football match between their island and the neighbouring island. At night, a passing boat caused waves and the overcrowded boat capsized killing more than twenty. Though I happened to write this poem, immediately after the accident, I couldn't post it. As I am a member of postpoem.org now, I take this opportunity to post it. Any tactical mistake in this poem can be pointed out, as this is a real incident that broke the hearts of many.
Note: I was working in one of the islands named Hinnavaru in the Lhaviyani Attol of the Maldives at the time of accident.
