Women can be the hero of their life or victims, searching perpetually for a sitcom family and friends life or picking up the reigns and yelling, H'Yaaa!!! And you are off. . Covid has not stopped me. I bother everyone with texts. I gave up fb (Meta) too intrusive. Family has gone virtual. I still send cards and write letter - inserting poems in them. I am re-reading my library. I think sometimes we forget that the elegac mood is as appropriate to Christmas as festive carolling. In the calendar of liturgical churches, Christmas is followed by the commemoration of multiple murders---the lynching of Deacon Stephen (the 26th), and Herod's mass murder of the children in Bethlehem (the 28th). Thank you for reminding us of our losses at a time when human nature, being damaged, is often tempted to forget or ignore them. [ go to comment ]
