Thank you so much: Yes it has been some time since my last post... I wrote this poem yesterday as a school assignment. I really just spoke from my soul experiences living in this physical host in this physical realm simply because I feel like we lose touch with our soul living with the demands of society.. The words of support from you and many others after observing my poem has lifted my spirit in ways since writing it! I use to write alot about the physical and thought it would be great to give credit to the spiritual as a balance between the both.. I appreciate you and look forward to writing more in the near future. By the way, old is the new young, sending positive vibes, energy & love your way.. Thank You
The death of a beloved pet is: The death of a beloved pet is always difficult. I continue to believe that the Apostles Saints Paul and John taught that the deceased creation will be restored. This has helped me to endure the death of our dachshund, Oscar, one of the most polite dogs I have ever encountered; and the possibility of the near future death of our beloved Chihuahua, Zoe, one of the two most empathetic dogs I have ever known. I still mourn the death of the other most empathetic dog in my life, my cocker spaniel, Monica (1972-1986) who was a major part of my adolescence.
Wow! Obviously, some time: Wow! Obviously, some time has past since your most previous post prior to this, so it is good that you are back. I do not know whether to think of this poem as metaphysical or philosophical---but I do know, for sure, to think of it as MIGHT FINE poetry. I applaud the way you set up a group of binaries, and then show how your soul emerges from the combinations of them. I have been reading poetry for almost a half century (yes, I am old!), and I cannot remember ever reading a poem like this one. It is unique in my experience as a reader; but, in addition to its uniqueness, it is also splendidly great and very, very wise in its approach to existence. I applaud your accomplishment!!!!!
Thank you for the comment. : Thank you for the comment. Admittedly, it is speculation---but I think the circumstances suggest his youth. We see in Acts that, after Jesus ascended, John hung out with Simon Peter; could Peter have been looking out for his safety, stepping into the protective role that Jesus had filled before? Plus John is said to have outlived all the other Apostles---a result of being younger than the rest of them may have been a contributor to that. John's mom also asked Jesus to favor him and his brother---something the old disciples, whose moms were not travelling along with Him, resented. As an adolescent often bullied for my appearance and awkward;y shy nature (I did not become bold until my senior year in HS), I was sometimes comforted by those medieval depictions of John.
You even create miracles from: You even create miracles from moss and bugs; so many overlooked, secret lives being brought to light and made magnificent with your pen. Wondrous simplicity.
Your skill for personifying: Your skill for personifying nature is miraculous. Here the clash between darkness and first light is filled with drama and a sense of renewal. Gorgeous.
