My Suffering Soul Weeps

Oh darling, why must you hurt me so?

I feel I have lost the key to your heart.

Like an apparition I am forced to wander

aimlessly about this earth,

searching for your soul.

But alas, it is nowhere to be found.

What must I do to bring you back,

before you become cold

and turn away?

Or must I fade into the dark shadows of time,

as the numbing silence

engulfs my soul.

My fingers, though grasping, slip through yours,

and I fall, crying,

"my darling, why must you hurt me so?"
