The one and only King
I saw a beggar squander money that a stanger’d given him
I met a woman selling pleasure, afraid to see the strength within
And as I stood there I couldn’t help but wonder to myself
Where in this world of love came all this pain and doubt
And as I wandered down that sidewalk
I realized there was only one way out
And if I stumble let me fall
So I can praise You on my knees.
And if I cry I pray you calm me
The way You comforted the seas.
Last night, I guess I must have forgot to mention
That I’d been fighting wars inside
But when I woke up this morning to my attention
Light was shining though the blinds
And as I opened up the curtains
I felt the light shine deep inside
And if I stumble let me fall
So I can praise You on my knees.
And if I cry I pray you calm me
The way You comforted the seas.
God, You are amazing
Mysterious for sure
The one and only King
The perfect comforter
God, it’s funny how You use us in our darkest times
And though I know Your with us, You make us look deep inside
