Watching intently,
days pass with unnoticed change.
But yearly,
as physical beauty fades with age,
I see more clearly....
Time enhances the wonderous splendor of the world around me.
I see age, as no enemy of mine.
Youthfulness of body was not mine to keep,
but to invest.
An investment which needed to be turned over.
Ephemreal.
Reinvested, within.
No.
Age is not, an enemy of mine.
It is a well of beauty.
The outer, turned in.
very realistic idea..and sure the physical beauty fades with ages but the moral and inner beauty will never fade and is eternal... love this poem...your poetry makes me spritually happy dear friend
Subtly powerful and soulful
striking in all of its reality.
The truth of our human condition
in terms of aging comes out
movingly and makes one realize
that it's the way we all are
headed anyway. An aptly relevant,
piece, Valerie!

I have a few years on you, and while at time it bothers me that I no longer am as youthful as I once was I think I am finally beginning to age gracefully. lol This was a very nice reminder to take a look around me at all of the beauty that is even more beautiful with the maturity I now have. Another beautiful piece. Thanks, Valarie. ~Lesa~
This poem certainly shows your mature thinking with a beautiful ending: "Age is not, an enemy of mine. It is a well of beauty. The outer, turned in." Valerie dear! thanks for sharing this marvellous poem.
That was deep. A nice way to look at aging. Great choice of words. I love the ending "the outer turned in" Great piece.
ooooooh this is good, well i have a few years to this happens, hehehe. But , heh, you know what , what did i expect from you. Nothing less then great and this poem is great.
I like this one! They say time is our enemy, but it seems the longer we live, the less we care of time! Time to me is just a natural endurance we must put up with! We all will age, but I don't find it scary at all! The older you get, the more you find to fulfill your life! Anyway, good writing!
