Butterflies, Chocolate, and Gold

Folder:
Love Poems

I have remembered you once,

In a dream guilded in gold.

Such mysterious innocence held close to you,

I could not help but discover more.

I could not let you slip through my fingers.

I approached silently with heart held out,

As an offering for you to take.

Skeptical,

But sure.

You were the one destined to hold it.

Such quiet innocence you always were,

From the first glance,

To the latest touch.

I will admit,

I miss your mystery.

I seldom think of who you really are,

Because I know you.

I miss the light, fluttering love,

That used to kiss our hearts like butterflies,

Drinking from the crystal clear water--

High in the mountain valleys.

But now metamorphosed,

A newfound love...

Not necessarily innocent,

But rich,

Like the sweetest chocolate...

Yet everlasting,

Like the purest gold.

Author's Notes/Comments:

I miss the past, but I also love the present and the future.  *sighs*
