Other Sunsets

Breathless night

Kept close with two hands

Faraway places

And prayers for safety

A small boat rests on the water

I am sitting with you there

Speaking of other sunsets

Of winds so powerful

Tears dry too fast to cry

We laugh

The boat sits so close listening

My smile slips

I take your hand and smile again

Look

The river is laid out like a journey
