Philip Berrigan



He was arrested over 100 times.. as over and over

again he confronted the warprofiteer machine

of the capitalist imperialists. In his last arrest

he was held by Ashcroft, forbidden to receive mail,

phone calls, or visits from his wife and daughter,

both of whom had been jailed or arrested.



In the tradition of Christ and his followers Gandhi

and King, Berrigan invited suffering to make the way

smoother for his brothers and sisters.



Now he is not impeded by a body as he continues

to work for peace, and hovers around his wife

Elizabeth McAllister, his family, his brothers, the saints of

Plowshares in Baltimore, and all beings.
