Forsaken

I’m searching for a way

To express these persistent screams

Living beneath these eyes

Crafting nightmares out of dreams

I’m searching for a way

To surpass these sadden seas

But I hold on to my Kraken

Swallowing the beast within me

Is there no place?

To let insecurities come to pass

To burn amongst the sky

To take wings in Earthly drafts

Is there no place?

To drown the insistent thoughts

To wither them to the bone

To expose them till they rot

I forget there is no place

To home creatures of my kind

The unforgiving weathered world

Leaving me behind

I forget there is no place

To embrace who I desire

My creature clawing outward

Set these streets on fire

Sometimes I sit and wonder

If ever I'll be free

But then I still remember:

My strongest demon's me

Life is full of shades of grey,

Remember demons were once angels.

I find that my own demons compliment my angels,

If properly kept in check.

Keep writing.

Your Friend,

~Seraphim

Alot of emotion in this

Alot of emotion in this darker piece, I'm captivated by the parts where you protray your demon, and would be very intrested in a piece that further profiled how you see your demons. Again very nice piece great read

I Am Not Afraid

of my beasts and they are many. I bought tranquilizers and made cages in my brain to keep them quiet. Occasionally several escape - I'm from Michigan - we hit the wood and trap 'em - put 'em back where they belong, not out here with us. It's an allegory (extended metaphor) for control of the darkness we all possess. U r not alone ~allets~

Thanks for the understanding.

Thanks for the understanding. I totally see your point. It's a weird feeling when the madness seems to take the wheel. I'm driving down a road that I've driven down a thousands times...and all of sudden it's not enough. The monsters within me are pushing for more. Wanting to reach the horizon but the hindering hands of the world leave me in ashes...so it's time to set things on fire and spawn in the remnants of my past.

Your comment adds a lot

To the understanding and depth.

Hope you reach the surface

And find that lifeboat.
