S---B---, I loved you as my awkward first:
shattered, the feeling easily dispersed.
F---L---, you were second, but greater, too:
and fourteen years just to get over you.
N---S---, we met on campus, but we found
little to love when we left common ground.
D---F---, in love you gave me my sole child;
love ended, marriage failed; divorce was filed.
But after all this, Lady Certainly,
you showed me love that could find poetry.
Existence turned to life in that translation
from lost to saved, from dying to Salvation.

Great write. I enjoyed reading.
We fall in love with many people in time, but there's only one soul mate that lasts forever.

Thank you for the compliment. I agree, also, that there is only one forever soul mate. Like Solomon wrote in his great Song, "This is my beloved, and this is my friend." The second of the first four was the hardest to get over---and that did not happen until I met Lady Certainly in December of 1992. Thanks again for your kind words.
