EVE'S DAWNING
(T. Beechey)
The sun has settled down to rest
Nestled in the arms of dusk
As the musky glows of twilight rise
Up into the skies, shedding the husks
Of our yesterdays,turning the page
The stage is set,the show has begun
As,one by one,the stars emerge
Merging with remnants of another day done
The air is still, hushes have fallen in sullen tribute to nocturnal bliss
And this is for all to share and cherish, the beauty compares to a newborn's kiss
No painting or sketch could begin to fetch the multitudes of hues displayed
Made and kept at a depth and width neither man nor myth has conveyed
And as we partake of these dimming embers
We pause to remember and reflect
Expecting no less,yet receiving more
Than we queried for as we connect
What's transpired and still to come
From perch to pane each view is held
As spells are cast on each who observes
The swerves and symbols of night unveiled
