Somewhere tonight,a newborn baby

Is crying out the first signs of life

Somewhere tonight,a man is deciding

On whether or not he should leave his wife



Somewhere tonight,a choir is singing

A teardrop is falling,someone is clinging

To a hope that someone soon will be bringing

Some good news --- somewhere tonight



Somewhere tonight,an old man is waiting

For open arms to welcome him home

Somewhere tonight,a poet's debating

Somewhere tonight,the moon has arisen

And lightened the walls of a darkened prison

And laughter abounds as time passes by

That it sounds as if time for one has grown nigh
