DIVORCE

Unable to look in,

afraid yet to look out.

A key, a lock, a turning knob,

a handle to a door, but

to no room- -

divorced.

All innocence escaped;

it was not tethered strong.

No cage, no chain, no door : set free.

Frail candles soon blow out.

No wax, wick,

heat, light.

How long and deep the wound?

Can sorrow stanch the flow?

Can time save kiss if Life lets go?

Must dreams fail?

Hold me ?

Very expressive of the many emotions- fears, failures, disappointments involved. I could appreciate this poem, and your nearness to the subject.
