For Fred.

The “Meaning of Life” :

Not what one gets OUT of it,

But what one’s put IN.

  (Of joy departed)

The joy of our life—

Gone in one tragic moment!

How will we forget?!

  (Of hopes departed)

Like a feather, blown

On the soft breathed sighs of Time,

Our beloved bird’s flown.

  (Of God’s eyes)

That life, in God’s eyes,

Worth more to Him than to us;

We dare not ask “Why?”.

11/12/00

The church, in silence,

Weak in pray’r, lost in error,

allowed wars to rage.

11/26/00

Awesome silence, Lord!

The sounds of Your Universe!

To our souls, SPEAK Lord!

Surround with glory,

Infill me with Thy Spirit,

Show mercy to me!

Thy Infinite Way

I desire with my whole heart!

O, speak to my heart!

It’s my priviledge

To come before Thee in pray’r:

Touch me & fill me!

He points on, to God,

Who became flesh, & then died;

He shows us the Way.

Let me, then, draw near-

As near as mortal man can-

& hear Your kind Voice.

       Your Hand I then trust.

        My guilt You change into good,

        My sin removing.

It’s not hard to trust,

It’s easy to believe You,

For You cannot lie.

        I hope & I pray;

        I learn to trust Your Words,

        & Your Word obey.

Hope causes my prayers.

Love fills me & meets my needs.

Lord, You’re in it all!

Your Love consumes me!

Your Love controls my actions!

Your Love guards & guides!

We need each other:

Your prayers can lift me up;

I really need you!

Live Life faithfully,

Encourage each one, & trust:

“LOVE ONE ANOTHER”.

11/01

"Loving" hearts don't count!

No good to the world at all--

without feet attached!

oops. Um, I've written this three time now...how weird...anyway, I have a design course in college and our current assignment is to use haiku in a design scheme. I was browsing PostPoems and ran into yours and enjoyed readin it so much, I'd be honored to have permission to use a stanza or two for the assignment. Of course credit will go where credit is due. Drop me a line at kcamero2@csulb.edu if it's okay with you ^^
