When I rest my head upon
your chest, I hear your heart pounding.
Astounding, how safe I feel here
wrapped in your warm caress.
I rest, in the very essence of you
in the calm of the afternoon.
Soon, the world will call us out
of this warm cocoon, hounding.
It's an envious world.
Hi, Geneva. I noticed you used this rhyme scheme before, in another of your poems. I really like it, the continuity and bridging it provides. You have captured the true meaning of refuge in the arms of a loved one, tranquillity in sanctuary. The peace, calm, and sense of belonging and completeness are palpable. And you do it so elegantly and effortlessly. Ken
