Sent Away Again

Little girl,

crying as she is sent away.

Sent away yet again.

Sent away from the place

where she has been for weeks.

The place she thought she

might finally fit in.

But she was wrong.

So now she's leaving again.

She can't find the place,

HER place,

the place where she belongs!

She's searching,

forever searching,

for the one place she will be loved.

She's searching,

forever searching,

for her forever home!

    Remarkable poetry, I

Remarkable poetry, I think it quite a remarkable journey most of those children in foster homes make. Not a popular topic but one that should be heard. I liked your directness in this poem, getting to the heart of the problem and portraying the little girl's greif and saddness at not finding the "right" home for her. It must be quite a daunting expeirence for most children in care.

And, yes it is a daunting experience... It breaks them down... Their hearts get eaten and then spit back up, each time they are rejected, and they have to keep trying to grab all those pieces before they are blown away. :(
