They Say What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger

They say
"What doesn't kill you
makes you stronger"
that you'll stand a little taller!

But what about those
who what should have
made them stronger,
actually kills them?!

Then they can't stand taller!
They don't have the ability
to even make their
body move at all!

So what are you
supposed to do
if someone
is killed by something
that should have
made them stronger?

There's not really much
that you can do,
or even say.

Sometimes things
don't make you stronger,
but instead,
they kill you!

They say what doesn't
kill you makes
you stronger,
and makes you
stand a little taller!

That may be true,
but what about those
who don't get the chance
to stand up taller?

What about those
who in trying to
be stronger,
end up being killed?

Author's Notes/Comments:

I was listening to the song "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" and this poem just came at me. I'm pretty sure that it's about my baby sister!
Please let me know what you think!

Everytime I hear this song my first thought is "If it doesn't make you handicapped. Or broken"
Because my best friend was raped and it didn't kill her, but trust me on this, it did not make her stronger.
I don't think this song was supposed to be taken in this way, but I can't help thinking about it like that.

Beautiful poem by the way.

Sorry for the babbling.

Yea. I think that sometimes

Yea. I think that sometimes also.
I know that the song is just supposed to be uplifting to those who need to be lifted up, but I always wonder about why somethings will kill some people, but then the same thing will not kill another person, but make them seem to be stronger.
I'm glad that you like the poem, and I don't mind your "babbling" =}
