"The Good Guy"
The one you can run to
and will lend a helping hand.
The one who will
when your in trouble take a stand.
He's the guy who understands
the guy you cry to.
He comforts you and wipes your tears
and tells you what to do.
But he's just the good guy
not the hot guy that girls want.
Not the model that, his muscles,
he must always flaunt.
He's just the good guy
Mr. Reliable through and through.
The one guy no matter what
you can always go to.
He's just Mr. Good Guy
not ever Mr. More Than Friend.
He's just the one, for you
the rules he will bend.
He's the guy with the compliments,
that makes you feel good.
But why isn't the good guy
ever treated like they should?
They're always in the shadows
and never in the lovers light.
They're always in the distance
and never in plain sight.
He's just the dream
that meant nothing at all.
He's the guy
that can never fall.
The good guy's the romantic one
that every girl looks for.
But they go for jerks with killer bods
and run shirtless on the sea-shore.
If he's one of those Mr's
that are alone until he dies.
Then I would give anything
to not be one of the good guys.
