Once 3 weeks before Christmas
He and his family would go to get a tree
Within those three weeks
They put it up and decorated it
The dad would always put the angel up
And the mom and kids put the ornaments on
And this was the best time of the year

Then 2 weeks before Christmas the next year
They went to go get a tree
The parents got into a fight
Over them going to get one so late
They winded up cutting one down
But it was a shit tree but no one really cared
The kids had to decorate it
Because the mom was too drunk too
And the dad forgot the angel
It put it up the night before Christmas

The next year 1 week before Christmas
They got a precut tree at a low price
The kids were disappointed in it
The dad told them to deal with shit you don’t like
Only one child decorated
Because the other one didn’t like Christmas anymore
And the dad forgot the angel again
And never put it up at all

This is why the next year
The night before Christmas
The child who missed his perfect Christmases
Cut his wrist in anger
They didn’t get a tree
Because they got into too many fights
The other child ran away
But the parents made her leave
And the one who slit his wrists killed himself on Christmas day
Because he couldn’t go through the past Christmases again….
