The Witch

Beguiling the long night with but a look into your eyes,
tasting sweet summer’s sweat concealed between your thighs.
Oblivious to caution, I feast on the fruits of your love,
I come with no honor or glory, and many sins to speak of.
Given your permission I would ebb this divine tide,
to fall by your grace, as have the rest of my kind.
On nights like this when your fair flower is in bloom,
I bow eager into every crevice devouring your perfume.
Drunk on the blood of an exiled queen, this love is obscene,
they would have you executed if they could endure to fight me.
Your enemies shall fall, true to the oath that I have sworn,
they will choke on their blood as I have choked on yours.
Though I am but a shadow of the man in your dreams,
you still stroke my cheek and say, “Hush, my poor baby.
Come, and we will deal more wisely with the fools,
for one enemy turns into many, but you will turn them into few.”
They spread perfidious lies, that your words are but poison,
a lethal venom in deadly doses to rain destruction upon each one of them.
You feed me the milk from your breast, your bosom my own cell,
you know of my weakness and all of my secrets, so please don’t tell.
I could never leave my place like a dog at your feet, it will cause you only distress,
and without your protection, our enemies will plot to plant a sword within my chest.
So beckon me to your bed with one last kiss, my love is heedless,
for you and the honey of your womb, I will die for this.
So our enemies become but corpses to be disposed of,
completely eradicate your foes, my dear lady will forever know,
that I alone, until I’m dead or gone, high or low,
love her until my last breath is drawn.
