Memories of an Autumn Morning (OLD)

Folder:
Poetry

Daylight breaks the dawn anew

The morning dew glistens on the trees

and drips down spiderwebs

forming crystals of clear glass

on the spindal fibers.

The wind blows softly and the clear crystals

drop to the pond below

forming ripples in the water.

The rings become larger as they flow away from you

and out toward the golden horizon.

You look into the water and your reflection is altered

causing you only to see a mangled version of your self-image.

As you look at the reflection, silken tears stream down your face

and slowly fall to the dry earth beneath you

bending the petals of a small flower

that once represented your love for another.
