COPPER TURNED TO BLUE

Walking in the park

I came across a hero

Perched atop his marble horse

His copper turned to blue

And though I read his name

I knew not much about him

Save for those who loved him

It mattered not the hue

Author's Notes/Comments:

Inspired by a statue I saw on the Boston Common during my latest visit to Beantown.

Very nice poem...the best way to write is from life inspiration. This is an enjoyable and memorable piece.

Terry, I'm so glad I came across your poetry page via the Random Feature Poems section today. You write with such a straight-forward, yet poetic, style and I enjoy that very much. This poem, "Copper Turned To Blue," is wonderful! I'll be back to read more of your work. Helen
