I hate the fact that we're only friends.



I get sad whenever a visit with you ends.



I wish that I could make you see,



You are so perfect for me!



I'd make you smile whenever you get sad.



Ease your pain when your headaches get bad.



I'd stay by your side when the nights get long,



And when you can't sleep, I'd sing you a song.



When the morning comes, I'd bring you jam and toast.



All because you're the guy that I care for the most.



Sadly enough, friends are all that we are.



I wish for your love when I see a falling star.



I don't know what God has in store for me,



But I pray that it is you, oh please let it be!



Nobody can make me smile that way that you do,



And cheer me up whenever I have the flu.



I know I'm not a model, or even all that pretty,



Maybe I should seek love in a really big city.



Even if I could leave this town far behind,



I could never manage to erase you from my mind.
