Addiction

Addiction is a vice,

That has sunk his claws into me,

He discriminates not,

Between age, class or creed.

He has not the morals,

That are seen in mortal men,

His course only directed,

By how much money you have to spend.

His search is relentless,

He leaves no stone unturned,

His flames are quite unique,

In that you will return when you've been burned.

His promise is sincere,

When he says he will take away your pain,

But only for a little while,

Until you are forced to call his name.

Even when he goes,

Think not that he has left,

He can lie there dormant,

For many years and quietly rest.

Knowing he has the power,

to rise up once again,

And in your time of need,

Become your friend, of friends.

Your poem explains everything to a T. The only thing that scares me and most ex-drugges is that the battles never ends when you stop. The battles continues by fighting to never go back.

Absolutely wonderful. Your poetry comes from the heart and your thoughts and feelings are strait forward. You are honest to yourself and everyone you share your inspiring poetry with! Keep on writing --- you have the tallent and you should really take you work to the next level and publish with some legitimate companies!!!!!!
