All In The Mind

Grass...

Born of seed and nurtured by water,

soil and sun

is mowed, trimmed, edged, doctored

and tended with care

and always seems greener

in someone else's yard

until a closer look reveals it

for what it is.

Can we not be content

with our own lawn

and know that our painstaking efforts

may produce yet a finer, greener, healthier

and more beautiful result

than that mirage

on our neighbor’s side?

Author's Notes/Comments:

Just  a metaphoric reminder to any who happen to need a metaphoric reminder to: Be your own Self...
Do your own thing...
Be content...

Ah, Richard... But 'painstaking effort' denotes hard work and envy yeilds the same gain without the strain. I don't see it, but then, the grass is always green to me - even if it does resemble hay more closely now, hehe =)
