Wild, weird, fantastic mind
that dwelt on horror of the kind
reflected by most every written story...
His poems, unique in all their charm,
came pouring out from brain to arm,
written in prolific allegory.
Extreme from cradle to his grave,
irrational, this errant knave,
possessed with talent and imagination.
A drunkard... yea, I will profess,
in moments of dark gloominess,
...no credit to poetic avocation.
His writings, sometimes clandestine,
and oft beset with saturnine,
paralleled his forty years despair...
His poem, "The Raven," won him fame
just four short years before death came
to find him in his sodden disrepair.
A genius, Edgar Allan Poe,
whose lifetime was imbroglio,
but famous after history's second look...
Quite possibly his writings lent
a garnish of accoutrement
to one whose life was sad and solitaire.
I think the fact poe was extreme made him more interesting and he is my favorite writer
Impressive!! This is very good. I especially like the rhyming pattern and the perfect scheme. I am VERY impressed.
