if i were a painter

and i could paint all the most beautiful things

i would paint you

i would take lessons for years

so every brush stroke

was perfectly in place

and every texture

felt like you

i would study abroad

be famous everywhere

all my paintings

would be instant masterpieces

people would pay millions

for something i created

nothing i paint

would be a flop

and i would devote my life

to painting the greatest masterpiece

there ever was

beauty would become a technique

only i could teach

and if i were a painter

and i could paint all the most beautiful things
