Dead Stars

Outside the stars are shining

all twinkling and bright

I'm like the stars

I give off great light

But deep inside where

passion's held

and truth succumbs to lies

I curl up in my little world

and force out that ugly light

Who needs light when darkness soars

and chaos always seems to win

who needs to be forever

if forever is a sin

I watch those stars

with sickening silence

and let out all my rage

in sacred violence

And far beyond the universe

where shining stars lie

some of them deceive the eye

for long age, untold to us

those shining stars-

they died.

I really like this... this touched me.

Outside the stars are shining
all twinkling and bright
I'm like the stars
I give off great light
--- so great! A perfect beginning to a nearly flawless poem!

And far beyond the universe
where shining stars lie
some of them deceive the eye
for long age, untold to us
those shining stars-
they died.
--- YAY! I was so happy with your choice of the ending.
It's perfect.

Thanks a lot for this poem. It has moved me.

Hey! I've read a few of your poems, you're a great writer! Dead Stars would have to be my favorite though...it's strong, powerful...says a lot! Great job!
