Ive always heard that beauty is skin deep,
Something one cant see.
Beauty is on the inside,
Which coincides with personality.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
And who might that be?
The answer to that simple question
Is relentless society.
Im not a size one,
Or what society wants me to be.
Im not a sex toy for men,
Or a doll entitled Barbie.
I am only a simple teenager
Just trying to get by.
Just trying to be loved by others
Even if I have to lie…
Im not who you think I am
Thats something plain to see.
Its because since Im not much of a looker,
You wont even look at me.
So sad it is to be like me
When men wont turn my way,
A sad thing indeed it is
And here is what I have to say:
Dont tell me I have great “personality”
Or mock me by saying Im “hot.”
Dont bullshit me, I know the truth
That beautiful I’m not…
