Oh Princess Kendra Rae
Came down the road today
She blessed us one by one
And didn't stop until she was done
Oh why did she go to such a hassle?
Oh why did she leave that pretty castle?
Man... I don't know what to say
But she came down the road today
Oh Princess Kendra Rae
Smiled and winked my way
I smiled and winked right back
As she walked on down the track
Oh what is a girl like her doing here?
Oh what would I say if she came near?
Well... I got my chance today
When she smiled and winked my way
I said, "Pretty little princess"
"Smart and strong"
"With your head held high"
"You can do no wrong"
Oh Princess Kendra Rae
Oh she made my day today
And everybody in our little town
Won't forget the day that she came down
This work is just so cool. And having met "Princes" Kendra I see what you mean, although I can't say I agree with it all...do no wrong...hmmmm. Anyway, as I read this poem, I keep picturing the street you live on, seeing an entourage leading her past the row of trees at the edge of your lawn and people hanging out by the swing set. It's a bizarre image and loses something.
This would be perfect for a "Mother Goose" style book.
Good job.
